Overview
CN_PMT_TRANS_PVT is an internal (private) PL/SQL package in the APPS schema belonging to the Oracle E-Business Suite Channel Revenue Management (CN) module. It encapsulates the business logic that governs the manipulation of payment transactions associated with channel payment worksheets. Payment transactions represent the amounts owed, credited, or adjusted in the context of channel rebates, deductions, and commission settlements processed through the Channel Revenue Management payment cycle.
Because the package is classified as PVT, it is not intended to be called directly by external integrations or end-user interfaces. Instead, it functions as a service layer consumed by the public wrapper package CN_PMT_TRANS_PVT_W and by CN_PAYMENT_WORKSHEET_PVT, which together expose the supported transaction-handling operations to forms, concurrent programs, and other CN components. All procedures execute under the standard Oracle EBS API conventions, including FND_API message handling and the standard savepoint/rollback idiom, consistent with the FND_API dependency documented for the package.
Key Procedures and Functions
The package exposes six documented procedures:
- CREATE_PMT_TRANSACTIONS — Creates new payment transaction records for one or more channel payment worksheets, validating the supplied data and inserting rows into the transaction table.
- UPDATE_PMT_TRANSACTIONS — Modifies existing payment transaction records, applying the current attribute values and maintaining audit and status information.
- DELETE_PMT_TRANSACTIONS — Removes payment transaction records that are no longer required, subject to the applicable status and hold validations.
- PROCESS_PMT_TRANSACTIONS — Drives the transaction processing flow, applying the business rules that move transactions through their lifecycle states toward completion.
- RELEASE_WKSHT_HOLD — Releases a hold placed at the worksheet level, allowing the associated transactions to be processed further.
- HOLD_MULTIPLE_TRANS_CONC — Concurrent-program entry point that places holds on multiple payment transactions in a single batch run.
Two of these entry points (RELEASE_WKSHT_HOLD and HOLD_MULTIPLE_TRANS_CONC) reflect the hold-and-release mechanism that governs which transactions may be processed. No parameter signatures are documented in the ETRM metadata, and callers should reference the wrapper public API rather than the private specification.
Tables Accessed
The package reads and writes the core CN payment tables:
- CN_PAYMENT_TRANSACTIONS — The primary table of payment transaction records created, updated, deleted, and processed by the procedures.
- CN_PAYMENT_WORKSHEETS — The worksheet header to which transactions belong; worksheet status and hold flags are evaluated here.
- CN_QUOTAS — Provides quota and accrual basis information that determines eligible transaction amounts.
- CN_REVENUE_CLASSES — Supplies revenue class classification used in transaction validation and processing.
- PAY_ELEMENT_TYPES_F — References payroll element types where commission-related payment elements are involved.
- Additional referenced tables include CN_COMMISSION_HEADERS, CN_PAYRUNS, CN_POSTING_BATCHES, CN_REPOSITORIES, HZ_CUST_ACCOUNTS, and HZ_PARTIES, supporting commission, payment run, posting, and customer/party context.
Usage Notes
CN_PMT_TRANS_PVT is invoked indirectly through the public wrapper CN_PMT_TRANS_PVT_W, which is referenced by CN_PAYMENT_WORKSHEET_PVT. The Channel Revenue Management payment worksheet form and the associated concurrent programs call these public entry points during transaction entry, worksheet submission, and hold management. The concurrent procedure HOLD_MULTIPLE_TRANS_CONC is registered as a concurrent program and is typically run from the Submit Requests window or scheduled to apply holds in bulk. Custom code should never call the PVT package directly; it should use CN_PMT_TRANS_PVT_W to preserve API support and future upgrade compatibility. The package is valid in both EBS 12.1.1 and 12.2.2.
