Overview

APPS.INV_TXN_MANAGER_GRP is a Group (GRP) classified PL/SQL package in the Oracle E-Business Suite Inventory module. It functions as the batch-facing validation layer of the Inventory transaction manager architecture rather than as a transaction-insertion engine itself. Its principal business role is to accept a set of pending inventory transaction interface records (rows in the transaction interface tables) and subject each one to the full suite of Inventory validation rules before downstream processing commits or rejects them. This includes validating item and revision eligibility, subinventory and locator combinations, lot and serial attributes, accounting flexfield derivations, open period checks, and source-to-destination transfer logic.

Routing and project-related checks reference BOM_OPERATIONAL_ROUTINGS and MRP_PROJECT_PARAMETERS. Process manufacturing transaction pairing uses GME_TRANSACTION_PAIRS.

Usage Notes

INV_TXN_MANAGER_GRP is not normally called directly by end users. It is invoked indirectly through INV_TXN_MANAGER_PUB and, by dependency, from WIP_MTI_PUB, WIP_MTLTEMPPROC_PRIV, GME_TRANSACTIONS_PVT, WMS_CATCH_WEIGHT_PVT, and WSMPLBMI. Custom code interfacing with Inventory should call the public API (INV_TXN_MANAGER_PUB) rather than the GRP package, since Oracle does not guarantee the GRP signatures as public interface. Validation is typically triggered by concurrent programs such as the transaction manager and by forms that process inventory transaction interface records.
