Overview
WSH_DCP_PVT is a private PL/SQL package owned by APPS in Oracle E-Business Suite, operating within the Shipping Execution (WSH) module. The "DCP" designation refers to Delivery Confirmation Processing, a validation framework used to enforce business rules around delivery detail confirmation, pick release, and shipping activity prior to downstream processing. The package is classified as PVT, indicating it is intended for internal use by Oracle's own Shipping Execution code base rather than for direct invocation by external or custom integrations. It is the private implementation layer that supports public DCP program units and validation routines.
The package defines several PL/SQL record and collection types that shape the delivery confirmation data model. The g_dc_rec_type record carries source header and line identifiers, delivery detail identifiers, and a dcp_script field, while g_dc_tbl_type is an index-by-binary-integer collection of that record. A second record type, t_dc_columns_rec_type, mirrors many columns of WSH_DELIVERY_DETAILS, including released status, requested quantity, source code, batch, interface flags, ship tolerances, and picked, cycle count, and shipped quantities.
Key Procedures and Functions
The ETRM metadata documents eight program units in WSH_DCP_PVT. Because the package is private and the metadata does not expose parameter lists, only purposes are described below.
- IS_DCP_ENABLED — Determines whether the Delivery Confirmation Processing feature is active, allowing callers to short-circuit DCP logic when the feature is disabled.
- CHECK_DELIVERY — The subject of the user's search. Validates a delivery or delivery detail against DCP rules before further confirmation processing is allowed.
- CHECK_DETAIL — Performs detail-level validation on the delivery detail records, using the fields in the
t_dc_columns_rec_typestructure. - CHECK_ITS — Executes validation against ITS (Integrated Test/Transaction System) style checks within the DCP context.
- CHECK_PICK_RELEASE — Verifies pick release-related conditions prior to confirmation, ensuring released and picked quantities are consistent.
- CHECK_SCRIPTS — Evaluates DCP scripts associated with delivery confirmation records, driving rule-based validation.
- POST_PROCESS — Performs follow-up processing after the primary checks complete, such as status updates or interface flag handling.
- SEND_MAIL — Issues notification email, typically when validation fails or an exception requires communication.
Tables Accessed
The package references several tables through APPS synonyms. Order data is read from OE_ORDER_HEADERS_ALL and OE_ORDER_LINES_ALL, providing the source order context for a delivery detail. The core delivery tables are WSH_DELIVERY_DETAILS, WSH_DELIVERY_LEGS, WSH_NEW_DELIVERIES, and WSH_TRIP_STOPS, which supply delivery, leg, trip-stop, and routing information. FND_USER supports user-related lookups, and MTL_RESERVATIONS supplies inventory reservation data relevant to pick release and confirmation. Utility objects DBMS_UTILITY and PLITBLM are referenced for supporting operations. UTL_SMTP supports the SEND_MAIL procedure, while V$DATABASE and V$PARAMETER provide database-level context and parameter values used during validation.
Usage Notes
As a PVT package, WSH_DCP_PVT is not supported for direct customer invocation. It is referenced by six other packages, which form the public-facing layer that calls these validations during shipping execution flows. Customizations that require equivalent DCP validation should call the corresponding public Oracle APIs rather than this package. Because the header indicates object version 120.0, behavior is consistent across EBS 12.1.1 and 12.2.2, though 12.2.x deployments may access the same logic through Online Patching editions.
