IN OUT NOCOPYparameter and a logging parameter of typeFA_API_TYPES.log_level_rec_type. Internally the procedure captures the current value of theCONC_SINGLE_THREADprofile option usingFND_PROFILE.VALUE, writes the caller-supplied value into that profile option usingFND_PROFILE.PUT, and then returns the previously stored value to the caller through theIN OUTparameter. In effect, the procedure performs a swap-and-restore cycle so that the caller can temporarily force single-threaded execution and later recover the original setting.
Tables Accessed
The package does not directly reference any Fixed Assets base tables, and no tables are recorded in the ETRM metadata. All persistence of profile option values is handled indirectly through the FND profile value layer (FND_PROFILE.VALUE and FND_PROFILE.PUT), which reads and writes the underlying profile option data owned by the FND schema. Because the profile is a session- or user-level setting, the effective storage is managed by the FND_PROFILE package rather than by direct DML from FA_SET_PROFILE_PKG1.
Usage Notes
FA_SET_PROFILE_PKG1 is not intended for direct invocation by end users. It is a private utility used by other Fixed Assets packages or concurrent processes that require the CONC_SINGLE_THREAD profile option to be temporarily altered. A calling program would invoke FA_SPRF, supplying the desired profile value, perform the work that depends on single-threaded behavior, and then pass the returned value back into a second call to restore the original setting. Standard Oracle guidance applies: any caller that changes profile option values at runtime must ensure the prior value is restored, since profile options are global to the session and leaving CONC_SINGLE_THREAD modified could affect subsequent concurrent requests. The package was shipped under the EBS code line and remains present in 12.1.1 and 12.2.2; it is not referenced by any other documented packages, so its use is effectively internal to Fixed Assets processing code.
