Overview
APPS.GL_GLXBTB_XMLP_PKG is the database-side PL/SQL package associated with the Oracle EBS General Ledger standard-report executable GLXBTB, an XML Publisher (BI Publisher) report used to compare budget and actual balances for a ledger and ledger set. The package encapsulates the parameter bind variables, query fragments, and report-level events that the Oracle Reports/XDO XML Publisher runtime requires to render the report. Because it is generated from a report definition, its public interface consists largely of package-level variables plus companion functions that expose those variables to the report template through the <P>_P naming convention.
The report is driven by accounting flexfield structures and budget versions. The package holds a fixed accounting flexfield structure number (STRUCT_NUM, defaulting to '50105'), the ledger identifier, the budget version identifier, the from/to period names, the currency type, and the access set identifier to which the report is restricted. The core configuration data —
Key Procedures and Functions
The documented interface consists of twenty-one procedures and functions. They fall into three functional groups.
- Report lifecycle events: BEFOREREPORT and AFTERREPORT run at the start and end of report execution, performing initialisation and cleanup such as ledger, currency, and access-set lookup.
- Parameter accessors: SELECT_BAL_P, SELECT_ALL_P, SELECT_ACCT_P, ORDERBY_BAL_P, ORDERBY_ACCT_P, ORDERBY_ALL_P, TRANS_CHECK_BB_P, TRANS_CHECK_BE_P, WHERE_DAS_P, STRUCT_NUM_P, and ACCESS_SET_NAME_P return the query fragments, structure number, and access-set name held in the corresponding package globals so the report template can substitute them into its SQL at runtime.
- Display and data filters: PERIOD_ACT_BALFORMULA and BUDGET_NAMEFORMULA format the period/balance and budget version values shown on the report; DISP_BAL_LPROMPT_W_COLONFORMUL renders the balance prompt label; LEDGER_NAMEFORMULA returns the ledger name; and G_BALANCESGROUPFILTER, G_PAGE_BREAKGROUPFILTER, and G_ACCT_DATAGROUPFILTER supply the group filters used by the XML Publisher layout.
Tables Accessed
The package references two documented tables through APPS synonyms:
- GL_ACCESS_SETS — queried to resolve the access set identifier into its display name (ACCESS_SET_NAME) and to constrain the report to the ledger set/access set selected at submission.
- GL_LEDGER_RELATIONSHIPS — used to derive the ledger and ledger-set relationship so that balances are reported for the correct ledger and set of associated ledgers.
The balance and transaction data itself is supplied by the report query rather than directly by this package; the package provides the SELECT, WHERE, and ORDER BY fragments against the GL code combination table alias (cc) and balance/ budget entities (bb, be) used by that query.
Usage Notes
GL_GLXBTB_XMLP_PKG is not intended to be called by custom code. It is invoked by the concurrent program that runs the GLXBTB XML Publisher report, typically submitted from the Oracle EBS General Ledger responsibility or the Submit Request window. The concurrent request identifier is passed in P_CONC_REQUEST_ID, and the report runtime populates the remaining parameter variables from the submission form before BEFOREREPORT executes.
With the header timestamp reflecting a 120.0 revision, the package is present in both 12.1.1 and 12.2.2. It is referenced by no other database package, so modification is only appropriate when the underlying report definition is changed. Analysts tracing a report failure should confirm that STRUCT_NUM matches the chart of accounts key flexfield structure in use and that the selected access set is valid in GL_ACCESS_SETS, since mismatches there are the most common cause of empty or rejected output from this report.
